Charles Leon Crosswhite

Born in Seminole, OK, Leon passed away at the age of 90 in Oklahoma City. As a teenager in Stratford he met his future wife Lorene Clinkenbeard at church. They married 23 October 1942 in Bakersfield, CA, where Leon was drafted into the US Army Medical Corps during WWII. He served in Europe for two years and returned to his wife and two year old son in Oklahoma. Leon focused his life on his family, his church, education at Southwestern Bible College and found a career in Time Management Analysis at Tinker AFB, retiring after 34 years. He was an active lifelong member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, serving more 30 years as Sunday School Supt., as a deacon, board member, and vice-chairman of the board of OKC Southwestern College. He was named a board member emeritus when he retired from the board. Leon worked with his son for 6 years, and 15 years at WalMart. He is survived by Lorene, his wife of 71 years, son Don and his wife Deloris, and their four daughters and families, daughter Janice and her husband Larry Brown and their three sons and families, totaling 7 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter, a niece and nephew, Carol Harris Thompson and Dr. Chris Harris, who were reared in their home. Leon said what he wants to be remembered by is his love for his family and his Lord Jesus. "It seems appropriate to ask my family and friends to go on with life and keep the process of life moving. I didn't dominate life while I lived and surely shouldn't after death. I don't want to cause people to feel a need to promote my patterns." The family will be present from 3:00-5:00pm Sunday, December 1, to greet friends at the funeral home. Visitation will also be available 9:00am-5:00pm Monday, December 2. Services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 3 at Northwest Christian Center, 8601 N. Council Rd., Oklahoma City, OK 73132 followed by internment at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
