Charles Osborn was born November 21, 1933 in Newalla, Oklahoma and was educated in McCloud and later graduated from Oklahoma City University. He went to work at Tinker Air Force Base but was drafted and served in the Army for two years then returned to his job at Tinker Air Force Base. He labored many years in the complex realm of engineering with the B-52 and B-1 bomber. He was the deputy director at Wright Patterson in Dayton Ohio for the B-1 bomber. He then came back to Tinker Air Force Base and formed a B-1 system management division. After working for Tinker Air Force Base for 35 years he retired as a GS 15. He then formed a engineering firm Science Application International Corporation (SAIC) in Oklahoma then later retiring in Midwest City then moving to Harrah, Ok. Forty five years ago, Charles Osborn made a family whole again when he married Marianna Sutton. That family grew from children to grandchildren, and now his family feels incomplete once more. Charles and Marianna moved to Epworth Villa in Oklahoma City where he passed January 30, 2014 from complications after a long, stubborn battle with cancer. Though he was on Epworth at Home Hospice for a short time we thank the caring the loving staff for their compassion through his difficult time. To say he was a simple man may seem unkind, but not untrue. At his core Charles was made of one simple element: love. Whether he was lending a helping hand to a neighbor or making his grandkids laugh, he did it with a happy and open heart. He loved taking care of people and enjoyed taking on and solving other people’s life challenges and problems. He always had exceptional advice for anyone who asked and a friendly pat on the head for any dog. He loved German Shepherd dogs. One of his prized dogs was donated to the Oklahoma City police bomb squad. And he continued to bring a smile to his wife face as they grew old together. Grandchildren loved hearing them tease each back and forth about who was more forgetful. So it is with heavy hearts that his surviving family returns their love as one of the last true gentlemen departs from this world.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marianna, his three children Curtis Sutton, Diana Zschiesche and Laura (Michael) Henry. Nine grandchildren Andrew Sutton, Adam Sutton, Nathan Sutton, Jacob Sutton and Benjamin Sutton, Nicole Zschiesche, Anna Zschiesche, Madeline Zschiesche, Thomas Zschiesche.
