He attended Capitol Hill High School in 1948, and went on to the University of Oklahoma, graduating in 1953 with a bachelor of science in Mechanical Engineering. He served in the US Army as 1st Lieutenant until 1955 and went on to work at OG&E where he later retired. He married his high school sweetheart in 1950 and devoted his life to her and his family. He enjoyed attending OU football games, studying genealogy, and spending time with family.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Mary Tyree, his parents, his brother James Tyree, his 2 children Leisa Huddleston and Michael Tyree and his grandson Toby Tyree.
He is survived by his 5 grandchildren Amy Hiller, Myranda Sinyard and her husband Paul, Ryan Huddleston, Katie Allen and her husband Trae and Ashley Wilson and her husband Brandon, and by his 12 great-grandchildren Maddison Winkler, Brendan Winkler, Courtney Winkler, Chloe Winkler, Kalysta Sinyard, Lilyanna Lamar, Darion Lamar, Amyiah Lamar, Kalenn Allen, Triniti Allen, Zach Wilson and Landon Wilson.
A visitation for Charles will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper, 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, OK 731161298. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Rose Hill Burial Park, 6001 NW Grand Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73118.
