Cheryl Ruth Males, age 76, passed away on January 22, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma and later made her home in Choctaw, Oklahoma. She lived a life rooted in love and family, and had a fun-loving spirit that brought joy to those around her.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother, George Nell Tanner; father, Jack Arley Tanner; sister, Karen Karr; and brother, Jack Arley Tanner, Jr.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Jeffery Ray Males. She is also survived by her daughters: Nicole Fincham and husband Corey, Rebecca Rodgers and husband Jeff, and Shawnda Stevens and husband Randall. Cheryl was a proud and loving Mema to CJ Fincham, Nathan and Madelyn Rodgers, and Lainey, Cole, and Jaidyn Stevens, and a cherished great-grandmother to Hazelle and Corey Lane Fincham. She is additionally survived by her brothers, Steven Tanner, Scott Tanner, Mark Tanner, and Ralph Tanner, and many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
Cheryl will be remembered for her warmth, her steady presence, and the deep love she had for her family. She found joy in simple moments—being surrounded by those she loved, watching her family grow, and creating a home where everyone felt welcome. Her kind and gentle but feisty spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
