

Constance Ann Garrett (“Connie”), age 85, of Arcadia, OK, went to be with the Lord on May 4, 2025. Born on November 25, 1939, in Washington, D.C., to Glenn and Fern McDonough, Connie graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Phoenix, AZ, and soon after married the love of her life, Patrick L. Garrett (“Pat”), on April 25, 1959.
In 1970, Pat and Connie moved to Oklahoma City, where they built a beautiful life together with their six children. Connie forged a successful career in accounting within the oil and gas industry, working for Eason Oil Company, Mustang Fuel Corporation, and Aspen Energy. Her success was a testament to her sharp mind, strong work ethic, and ability to lead and inspire others. For the past 54 years, Connie called the Oklahoma City metro area home, residing in Oklahoma City, Edmond, and Arcadia.
She and Pat were devoted parishioners throughout their lives, first at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Oklahoma City from 1970 to 1991, and later at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond. Upon retirement, Connie found joy and purpose as a dedicated volunteer at St. John’s Samaritan House. Her compassion for others shone brightly as she gave her time to support and advise those in need. Helping others brought her immense happiness and reflected her deep faith and generous spirit. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
Connie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pat; her parents; her sister, Patricia J. Patton; and her son, Kevin Patrick. She is survived by her six children: Dr. Terence Garrett and wife Cecilia (Roselle) of Laguna Vista, TX; Jennifer Thompson and husband Toby of Arcadia, OK; Thomas Garrett and wife Michelle (Hahn) of Edmond, OK; Mary Jekel and husband Joe of Edmond, OK; Cynthia Rock and husband Joe of Woodridge, IL; and Catherine Smith and husband Duane of Moore, OK. Connie leaves behind fourteen grandchildren: Sean Garrett; Elizabeth and Laurin Garrett-Halada; Jarrett and Jenna Thompson; Jack and Abby Garrett; Kelly, Matthew, and Brendan Garrett; Katelyn (Jekel) and Christian Looper; Sarah (Jekel) and Blake Dauphin; Ashley Jekel; Anne and Dr. Katie Rock; and Jacob and Joshua Smith. Her great-grandchildren include Nikolas and Robin Garrett-Halada; Jackson and Jayden Thompson; Macy, Kenley, and Blakely Looper; and Adalynn Dauphin.
Connie is also survived by her two sisters, Karen Vogl of Brookings, OR, and Mary White of Kenai, AK; and two brothers, Jude McDonough of Scottsdale, AZ, and Glenn John McDonough of Edmond, OK.
A visitation will take place on May 8, 2025 at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Home between 4-8 PM, 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, OK 73116. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist parish in Edmond, OK on May 9, 2025 at 10 AM, interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, OK. In lieu of flowers, please consider offering a simple act of kindness to someone in need. Memorials can also be made to St. John’s Samaritan House, c/o St. John’s Catholic Church, Edmond, OK.
