

Constance (“Connie”) Kiriopoulos Panaras, 92, of Oklahoma City, loving mother, an devoted YiaYia, passed away peacefully at her home with her family on February 19, 2013. Connie was born on June 12, 1920 in Oklahoma City to Tony and Katherine Kiriopoulos. In July 1946 she married the love of her life, William, and devoted her life to raising 6 children. Connie was known to her grandchildren and her grandchildren’s friends as “YiaYia” and always kept them smiling, laughing and food in their mouths. Connie was a life-long member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church and the Philoptochos-Enosis Ladies Society and the Order of the Eastern Star. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister, Christine Chiconas. Her daughter Antonia left this world to join Connie two days following on February 21, 2013. She is survived by her son Nick Panaras and wife Jonell; daughter Katherine Panaras Fox and husband Mike; son Louis Panaras (Kathy); daughter Elaine Panaras Bappert; son John Panaras and wife Carolyn; and six grandchildren who affectionately called her YiaYia, Megan Panaras Whisnand, Joseph Panaras, Johnny Fox, Patricia Fox Seldomridge, Tommy Fox, and Richard Bappert. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Lacey, Vuvu, Kandi, Cathy and the staff of Companion Hospice for the compassion, love and care of their mother. Trisagion Service will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 7:00 pm at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013, at 10:00 AM, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 2101 N.W. 145th Street, Oklahoma City, with interment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Donations may be made in Antonia’s name to the “Flowers That Do Not Wither” Foundation in care of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
