OBITUARY
Curtis Larry Bond
6 November, 1944 – 7 March, 2023

IN THE CARE OF
Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home
Curtis Larry Bond was born in Ada, OK, November 6, 1944, to Curtis Leon Bond & Aileen Metheny Bond. They resided in Ada along with older sister Nita.
In 1953, Curtis, the father, died and tragically left Aileen widowed at the age of 27 with two children Larry, age 9, and Nita, age 11. In 1954 they moved to Midwest City where Aileen met and married, Ken Wilson. They had 2 boys, Steve and Tony.
In 1962, Larry graduated from Midwest City High School, and in 1965 joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served 4 years active duty. As Airman Second Class, Stationed in Turkey during the Vietnam war he was a Communications Specialist, Univac and IBM operator/supervisor.
Also in 1965, shortly after he joined the Airforce, Curtis married Dorothy Jean Chadwick. They had 3 children together. Two sons and a daughter. The first son, also named Curtis died at age 11, a second son, Brett Dewayne, and daughter, Dawn Rene. Larry & Dorothy were divorced in 1970, and sadly Larry lost contact with the children until they were almost grown.
During the stress of the Air Force job, getting divorced, and losing contact with his kids contributed to a nervous breakdown from which he never recovered. That led to the need of assisted living, then later disability requiring a Skilled Nursing Facility. Everyone who knew him recognized the childlike innocence of a happy Christian Man.
He loved sports - football, basketball, baseball. His favorite team was OU. His favorite Pro Football player was Tom Brady. He also loved people, especially family, and always wanted to know how every one of them was doing.
He loved Rock and Roll music, especially Elvis Presley, but most important he loved God and always had a bible handy.
Curtis Larry Bond died peacefully of natural causes on March 7, 2023.
