Danielle LeAnn Victor, 17, of OKC passed from this life on March 3, 2018 at her home. Services have been entrusted to the care of Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service and a celebration of Danielle’s life will be held at 11am on Thursday, March 8 at the Life.Church S. OKC Campus. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 7 from 10am to 8pm at the funeral home located at 7720. S. Penn in OKC.
Danielle was born on Feb 20, 2001 in OKC to Dale and Melissa (Kilmer) Victor. She grew up and attended school in S. OKC/Moore, most recently attending Westmoore High School where she was set to graduate with the Class of 2019. She was a bright student and excelled in several AP classes. Danielle’s faith was important to her and she was baptized along with several of her siblings on Aug 5, 2017 at Life.Church.
While she may have seemed shy to people outside her circle of friends, the truth is that Danielle was a brave and courageous young woman. She spent many years of her life battling illness and she used that same fierce and determined spirit to stand up for others and fight against the injustice she saw in her world. She enjoyed spending her summers at Camp Cavett in Kingston, OK, a camp for children with terminal illness. Danielle had no desire to conform to what the world expected her to be and she enjoyed being at Camp Cavett surrounded by friends who felt the same way.
She enjoyed playing video games, listening to music, drawing, dancing, and eating candy. Danielle was obsessed with dragons and she spent hours reading her How to Train a Dragon books and writing stories about various adventures with dragons. She also had a profound love for animals and had aspirations of becoming a vet assistant when she got older. Spending time with her family was a top priority for Danielle and she was never happier than when she was surrounded by her parents and her three sisters who were also her very best friends.
Danielle’s life was not easy. While her illness would cause most people to be bitter or feel sorry for themselves, Danielle lived a life filled with joy and excitement. She never complained about her circumstances, but rather greeted each challenge with a positive and her famous 1000 watt smile. Danielle was a loving daughter, a protective sister, a caring granddaughter, and a loyal friend who packed more great memories into her short 17 years than most people could pack into 100 years of life. She left an unmistakable mark on the lives of those she touched and she will truly be remembered by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her two grandfathers: Dale Everett Victor Sr. and Dewey H. Rodgers, as well as great grandparents Elbert and Sarah Smith and Doris Victor. She is survived by her proud parents Melissa and Dale Victor Jr.; three sisters: Shalena, Kionna, and Samantha Victor; grandparents: Connie Rodgers and Carlan and Raul Rodriguez; great grandma Betty Young; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other beloved family members and friends.
