

Darrel Rickard, a beloved father, "PoPo", minister, mentor and friend passed peacefully from this life into arms of his Savior, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service and compassion. Darrel faithfully served churches across New Mexico, California, Texas and Oklahoma devoting his life to sharing the message of Christ and guiding congregations with humility, wisdom and love. His heart for ministry extended far beyond the pulpit. In Oklahoma City, he became a familiar face to many through his television programs Something Special and Carpenters' Children, using media to share the hope of the gospel with countless viewers. A mentor to hundreds of men in ministry, Darrel's steady encouragement and Christlike example shaped generations of church leaders. He walked beside others in their highest and lowest moments, officiating hundreds of weddings and funerals with grace and dignity. His presence brought comfort and his words offered peace. Darrel was preceded in death by his beloved wife and cherished son, with whom he is now joyfully reunited. He will be remembered not only for his ministry, but for his graciousness, deep kindness, quick wit and unwavering faith. His legacy lives on in the lives of all who were blessed to know him, be led by him, and be loved by him. He is heart-brokenly survived by his daughter Lisa Mincey and her husband John Michael, grandchildren Christian, Caitlyn, Emma, Melissa, Jessica and Kristina and 3 precious great grandchildren. Services will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Crossings Mayfair Church. Interment will immediately follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, Oklahoma City.
