Edie Jane Pyy Ghavidel, passed away with her sweetheart at her bedside on April 23, 2021. Edie was born February 21, 1935 to Lydia Elizabeth Pyy, in Hyannis, Massachusetts. She attended Duxbury High School and Becker College in Worcester, Massachusetts. Growing up, Edie was very involved in school clubs, events, and sports. People were drawn to her because of her leadership skills, kind personality, and loving heart. On December 3, 1983, she married her sweetheart and true love, Fred, and they have spent an amazing 43 years loving each other. She worked as a medical administrative clerk at Integris Baptist Medical Center for many years. Edie enjoyed watching Turner Classic Movies, The Lawrence Welk Show, Wheel of Fortune, and OSU games with Fred. Her life was also made complete by her five daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
To continue her legacy of love, she leaves behind her husband Fred Ghavidel; her daughters Donna Folsom and husband Rick Folsom of Piedmont, OK, Lori Brubaker and husband Ted Brubaker of Arcadia, OK, Teri Gargan and husband Tom Gargan of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Kelly Fisher and husband Bill Fisher of Enid, OK, and Pamela Ghavidel and husband Farid Ghavidel of Edmond, OK; eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Chapel Hill Funeral Home on Monday, April 26th from 4 pm to 8 pm. A service to celebrate Edie’s life will be in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, April 27th at 2 pm with a reception in the Chapel Hill Event Center before going to the committal service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
