

Eva Viola Carpenter, 85 year-old resident of Midwest City, OK, passed away on January 17, 2011 at her home in Midwest City, OK. Born June 21, 1925 in Fairview, OK, she was the daughter of John Harmon Hall and Melinda Marie Shook Hall. Eva was a longtime cook working in several places including the school system. She was a former longtime resident of Woodward, OK, living there for over 40 years before moving to the OKC Metro area. She loved sewing and cooking; spending time with her children and grandchildren; and all sports, especially OU football and the Atlanta Braves baseball team. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbur Carpenter; 2 sons, Larry Carpenter and Fred Taylor; and 10 siblings. Survivors include 2 sons, Wilbur Vance Carpenter, Jr. and his wife Sandra Kay of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Ray Dell Carpenter and his wife Ava of Princeton, TX; 3 daughters, Shirley Stiles of Oklahoma City, OK; Ida Mae Blay and her husband Don of Pink, Oklahoma; Bertha Marie McGuffee and her husband Charles of Midwest City, OK; 1 brother, Kenneth Hall of McLoud, OK; 21 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2011 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd St., Oklahoma City, OK with Reverend Mark Kurel officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK with services under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home.
