Ferrell was born in Deer Creek, OK, to the late Ferrell C. Marks, Sr. and the late Viva E. (Waller) Marks. The family moved to Oklahoma City, where he graduated from Central High School and ran track for OSU. While in college he met the love of his life, Janice G. Kimsey, they were married for 60 years until her passing in 2013.
After graduating from college, he proudly served his country as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army while stationed in Germany. After his service, he moved his young family to Memphis, TN, and began a 36-year carrier as a salesman with 3M Company. Ferrell was a deacon at Graceland Christian Church and taught Sunday school, his polished sales skills and offering of glazed donuts always packed the classroom with young people.
Ferrell had a great love for the outdoors and shared that passion with his sons on countless hunting and fishing trips. He loved all dogs, most cats, Memphis State, his time with his friends at the Memphis Gun Club, and his countless books. Most importantly, he loved his family. He was a great father and was always there for his boys.
He is survived by son, Craig Marks and wife, Mary Ann of Lafayette, LA; son, Gary Marks and wife, Leigh Ann of Lafayette, LA; sister, Viva Jean Henley and husband, James of Scottsdale, AZ. He leaves five grandchildren that meant everything to him and he loved each one dearly, Brett Marks, Elyse Lehrer, Mitchell Marks, Wyatt Marks, and Mattie Marks.
