

George Robert Safley, 73, of Oklahoma City, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015. George was born May 23, 1941, in Dallas, TX to Robert Hay Safley and Margaret Ruth Jones. He grew up in Healdton, OK, where he completed high school in 1959, then attended both OSU and OU. He completed further studies in dentistry at Baylor University College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas, graduated in 1966 with a D.D.S., and established a dental practice in Moore, OK. He married Eleanor Ann Chapman on August 26, 1961, who survives him. He is also survived by daughters Susan Bibens of Tulsa, OK and Elizabeth Brinker of Rockville, MD, sons-in-law Bert Bibens and Allen Brinker, and grandchildren Robert, Michael and Emily Bibens and Samuel and Owen Brinker. He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Safley of Houston, TX and is survived by two siblings, Judy Safley Roberts of Healdton, OK, and Ed Safley and wife Renee Safley of Norman, OK. He is also mourned by numerous members of the extended family, loyal friends and innumerable patients from 48 years of practice. A memorial service will be held at All Souls' Episcopal Church, 6400 N. Pennsylvania, Oklahoma City at 2pm on Monday, February 23. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All Souls’ Episcopal Church or the charity of your choice in his name.
