Georgia Lupe Barajas

Georgia Lupe Barajas, age 95, of Oklahoma City, died on June 1, 2024, in Oklahoma City.  Lupita was born May 25, 1929, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Valeriano Dios and Sista Garza Gonzales.  She married Antonio Barajas on December 5, 1948, having celebrated 75 years of marriage this past year.  Gregarious, fun loving and faithful, she was a force to be reckoned with.  You did not dare ask her a question you did not want the answer to…she was the queen of all things – her household, her husband, her children.  She made every stitch of clothing we ever wore as kids, baked anything you wanted and of course, you have all had her homemade flour tortillas (which she made on a daily basis) and her tamales.  She and dad were active members of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, cooking for fundraisers, helping with garage sales.  Mom was loving and generous with all who came into her path, took in strangers, fed them, made them bathe and sent them on their way.  She was a lioness when it came to her family and generosity, love and kindness was known by everyone.   Lupita is survived by her children, Robert and Trinidad Barajas, Elizabeth and Duane Shriver, Vickie Rivas and Delores Barajas, 8 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren 7 great-great grandchildren, her brothers, Jesse Gonzales and Pete Gonzales, countless friends, nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Valeriano and Sista Gonzales, the love of her life, Antonio Barajas  on April 5, 2024, her oldest son, Tony Jr, brothers – Angelo Gonzales, Benny Gonzales, Manuel Gonzales, sisters – Esther Waters, Julia Gonzales and Virginia Gonzales. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, June 6, 2024, 10:30 a.m. at Epiphany of Lord Catholic Church.  In lieu of flowers, all donations may be made to Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, 7336 West Britton Road, Oklahoma City, OK  73132.  You know, Mom, we did not deserve you, but are so blessed by you and your tenacity and faith and your love for us.  We love, love you.

A visitation for Georgia will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, 7336 W Britton Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
