Geraldine LaFaye Cole

As the daughter of a Pastor, “Gerri”, accepted Christ at an early age. From Conroe, the family went on to reside in Edinburg, Texas and Altus, Oklahoma before planting roots in Oklahoma City where Geraldine attended F.D. Moon Junior High and Frederick A. Douglas High School. She graduated from Douglas High School in 1959.

Geraldine went on to attend Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee. While in Tennessee, she met and married John L. Rose. To this union, one child was born. Geraldine later came back home to Oklahoma City where she met and married Joe Cole. She was employed at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for over 30 years. She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and later a charter member of the Mount Horeb Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of her father, Reverend Hill.

Geraldine loved God; she loved her family; and she loved her friends. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Lysette Rose Jones and one son in love, Christopher H. Jones of Dallas, TX; two brothers – Ezekiel H. Hill, Jr. (Emma) of Los Angeles, CA; and Elbert Earl Hill (Betty) of York, PA; one sister, Mary Gloria Elizabeth Hill Kee of Norfolk, VA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a multitude of friends.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Mount Horeb Missionary Baptist Church, 2501 North Higland, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Arrangements under the direction of Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Directors, Oklahoma City, OK.
