Gordon Richard Stotts, 87, of Oklahoma City, passed away on May 14, 2024. Gordon was born on August 3rd, 1936 to parents Dr. W.H. “Doc” Stotts and wife Garnada in Oklahoma City. Gordon became the little brother to sister, Betty Lou. Gordon graduated with the rank of Corporal from Oklahoma Military Academy in 1955. Gordon began his college career at Oklahoma City University where he joined the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He held the offices of vice president and historian of the fraternity until he graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree. He was a member of the Blue Key National Honor Society. Gordon next attended the University of Oklahoma where he obtained his Doctorate of Pharmacy. After graduating, Gordon joined the Air Force where he served as a radiologist and medic from 1966 until 1972. Gordon was absolutely crazy about OU football. When the games were on TV, forget about reaching him for any reason. He would be firmly planted in front of the TV loudly suggesting his commentary to the coaches and players on the screen! If OU lost the game, you knew better that to call him for the rest of the day! Gordon had a love for physical fitness. From an early age, you would find him in the gym. He began boxing in military school and joined the prestigious Golden Glove Boxing team. He later went on to compete and win several bodybuilding competitions which included Mr. Oklahoma City and runner up for Mr. Oklahoma three years in a row. Gordon met Barbara Troup, and they were married in July of 1960. They were married for almost 25 years which resulted in one daughter, Gina. Gordon really enjoyed his career as a pharmacist. He loved talking to all the customers and knew everyone by name and ailment. He would often make up his own special concoctions and ointments to help his regular patrons. Early in his career, he was a pharmacist at the OU Campus Pharmacy and later went on to own several pharmacies including Baptist Hospital Pharmacy, the pharmacy inside Yount’s Grocery Store and later Wynn’s Pharmacy. Later in life, Gordon met Scharleane LaFlamme. She was his two step dance partner until she passed away December 25, 2020. Gordon had many leisure interests which included: horseback riding, motorcycling, quail hunting, country western dancing, movie nights with his grandson Tristan, and was a “ruthless” domino Chicken Leg player! If you were not his domino partner you were in for a tough ride! He also enjoyed his Friday afternoon Casino run. Scharleane and Gordon would go to different casinos all over the state. In 2021, Gordon moved into The Mansions at Waterford Assisted Living, where he met numerous friends which became a second family to him. He enjoyed all of the activities. His favorite was “Bingo” which he competed with the gusto of a Vegas high roller! If he won a dixie cup full of nickels, he was set for the day! Gordon was a deeply beloved father, grandfather, uncle, brother, stepfather, and friend. He loved with his whole heart and would defend those he loved with everything he had to offer. We want to say a special “thank you” to Gordon's caregivers, Anna, Anthoneth, Sonny, Toni. He loved each of you like family. The family would like to thank Oklahoma palliative care and hospice especially Tarek, Angie and to Monalisa for always bringing dad a little “sunshine” with each visit. Thank you to the Mansions staff for making dad feel “at home” from the first day he arrived. Gordon is preceded in death by his father, Dr. W.H. “Doc” Stotts, his mother, Garnada Stotts, his sister, Betty Lou Osborn, and his wife Scharleane Stotts. Gordon is survived by daughter, Gina Cisco, grandson, Tristan Hutchison, and granddaughter Laila Cisco. He is also survived by step-daughter Christie Dunn (husband Sean), grandchildren, Braden, Jaycie. Step-son David LaFlamme, grandchildren, Emily, Stephanie and Mckenzie.
