Gordonna Kay Suchy

Gordonna (Gordy) Suchy of Oklahoma City passed away on March 26, 2023 at Integris Baptist Medical Center after a long illness. Gordy was born October 18, 1946 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Jesse Gordon and Doris Kearns Yeary. She was one of the original baby boomers born 13 months after her father returned from World War II. She graduated from Pawhuska High School in 1964 and attended Phillips University in Enid and Central State College now called the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.

Gordy came to Oklahoma City in 1966 working for several companies, including Streets, CNA Insurance, Pitney Bowes and the Oklahoma State Department of Health, which she retired from in 2014.

She was married to O.E. Berry Jr. (Jug) in 1969 until his death in 1970. She was later married to the love of her life, Gerald (Jerry) Suchy for 31 years until his death in 2016.

Gordy was also proceeded in death by both parents, brother Dennis Yeary, stepdaughter Stacy Suchy McFarland, nephew Andrew Dunn and her very best friends Betty and Virgil Henderson and Kay and Dale Haynes.

She is survived by stepson Kyle Suchy and husband Dr. Bryan Struck, granddaughter Amanda McFarland and great granddaughter Arianna De la Cruz, sister, Janice Yeary and husband Darren Dunn, brother David Yeary and wife Jeri Lynn, goddaughter Leann Henderson and husband Freddie Beagle, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well as cousins and several very good friends.

Gordy endured several health problems in her life and always faced them with an upbeat attitude. She was a kind person loved by many. She will be missed dearly.

Visitation for Gordy will be Sunday, April 2 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The service to celebrate her life will follow the next day at 10 a.m., Monday, April 3 in the funeral home chapel.
