James “Jimmy” Robert Womack, 75, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, surrounded by family in Oklahoma City. He was born on March 14, 1950, in Oklahoma City and raised by his parents, Grant and Oleta Womack. Jimmy lived a life defined by love, service, hard work, and joy.
Jimmy spent most of his life in Edmond, out in the country where he always wanted to be. It was there, alongside his beloved wife Carolyn Marie Womack, that he built a home filled with laughter, kindness, and warmth. They shared nearly 44 years of marriage, raising three children who were the pride of his life: Jeffrey (42), Brian (40), and Sarah (38), married to Kiel McCall. His legacy continues through his seven cherished grandchildren — Spencer (19), Olivia (16), Kinley (13), Blakely (11), Karston (10), Palmer (6), and Royal (5) — who affectionately knew him as “PaPa” and viewed him as a constant source of love, fun, and support.
After proudly serving in the U.S. Army for three years, including a memorable tour in Germany, Jimmy returned home and began a long and dedicated career with Sears, where he worked as an appliance repair specialist from 1979 until his retirement in 2007. Everyone around him knew, if something needed fixing, that he was the man to call. Not just because he had the skill, but because he truly loved to help, with kindness, guidance, and patience. Whether at his own house or someone else’s, Jimmy was always seeking a new project, always ready to lend a hand, a tool, or a laugh.
Jimmy had a gift for making everyone feel like a friend. He’d never let someone be a stranger for long and always greeted others with warmth, humor, and genuine interest. He loved being surrounded by family and friends, playing board games — especially dominoes and cards — camping trips to the lake, always ensuring everyone was left with unforgettable memories. He loved cheering on his favorite teams: OU Football, OKC Thunder basketball, and OKC Dodgers baseball. His energy and good nature made every gathering brighter, and his presence at his grandchildren’s activities was a constant reminder of his unwavering love and pride for his family.
A man of deep kindness and thoughtfulness, Jimmy never let a holiday or special occasion go by without marking it with a card or a gift — gestures that spoke volumes about his generous spirit. His signature “Boomer Thunder!” when greeting visitors will forever echo as a symbol of his joyful, spirited personality.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Oleta Womack, as well as his puppy companions Allie, Max, and Rascal. He is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews, and countless friends who were blessed to know him.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. A funeral mass will follow on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, with a small lunch then burial with military honors at 1:30 PM at St. Patrick’s Cemetery near the Womack family home following lunch.
Jimmy will be remembered for his kind heart, his humor, his devotion to family, and the countless ways he made life better for everyone around him. His legacy will live on in the love he gave, the laughter he inspired, and the family he built.
