

Janis Podoloff Ephraim of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on July 18, 2016 at the age of 77. Jan was born on October 28, 1938 in Chicago, IL. She was adopted as an infant by Joseph and Grace Podoloff of Minneapolis, MN.
Her childhood years were spent living in Minneapolis, Washington D.C, San Francisco and Berkley, CA. Jan graduated from Northwestern University in 1960 and received her Master’s in Biology from the University of Minnesota in 1964. Early in her career, Jan enjoyed teaching Biology to high school and college students. While living in Minneapolis in 1967, she met and married the love of her life, Allan Ephraim. They relocated to Oklahoma City together in 1968. There she developed a passion for needlework, knitting and cooking.
Jan was an active volunteer at Temple B’nai Israel and the Oklahoma Military Welcome Center. She and her husband Allan spent their retirement years being devoted grandparents and traveling the world. She lived life to the fullest and will be missed by her many friends and family.
Jan was preceded in death by her father, Joe, and her mother, Grace. She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Allan Ephraim, beloved daughter, Debbie Trob, son-in-law Josh Trob, and her grandchildren Caroline, Andrew and Megan Trob all of Libertyville, IL; cousins Blair and Freem Wolfson of Minnetonka, MN, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at Temple B’nai Israel at 10am on Friday, July 22nd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Temple B’nai Israel Sisterhood, Temple B’nai Israel Erna Krouch Preschool, or The American Cancer Society.
