John is described as a kind and generous person who was always willing to help. He enjoyed spending his time with his wife of 26 years, Lita Applebaugh. He also enjoyed learning about history, often found reading or watching TV about the subject. Solving Sudoku puzzles was another of his favorite pastimes. John was an avid OU fan and has OU fan gear and game recordings all throughout the house. He collected model cars and airplanes and had several small collectable jukeboxes.
John was a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Music. He then worked for ATT&T Communications in different departments being the payroll department the last one, from where he eventually retired.
John is survived by his wife, Lita Applebaugh and preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice Applebaugh.
