John Wayne Pace was born on June 21, 1937, in San Jose, California to Ada and Earl Pace. His family moved to Arkansas shortly after and in 1955, he joined the United States Navy and moved to California. He married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Allen on July 28, 1956. Two children were welcomed shortly after; son, Mark Pace and daughter Rebecca Smith.
After honorable discharge from the Navy, John moved to the Oklahoma City area to pursue a career in the trucking industry and retired as a broker in the same field.
He loved the Lord with all of his heart and was very active in his church . He enjoyed singing and traveling in the men’s quartet. One of his favorite pastimes was playing golf.
After several months of serious health issues, John went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2019. He is survived by his sister, Terry Chappell, children Mark Pace and Rebecca Smith, grandchildren Owen Smith, Shannon Brophy and Misti Pace, great grandchildren Judah Brophy and Eben Brophy, as well as the mother of his children, Dorothy Warden.
