Juan was born on August 8, 1950 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Geronimo Chavez Navarete and Nicolasa Vargas Martinez. In the late 1960’s he married the love of his life, Isabel Domingez. They were married for over five decades and raised six children together. Juan worked as a mechanic for 25 + years. He was a hardworking man and on his day off, he enjoyed collecting cans and selling them to provide for his family and keep himself busy. He was well known around town for his incredible hielitos (Mexican popsicles). He sold his hielitos at local stores, tire shops, and mechanic shops to supplement his income and bring smiles to the faces of all who tried them. When he was not working, Juan enjoyed dancing and having his family over for cookouts. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
