

Judy Johnson died peacefully January 29, 2018. She was a loving mother and grandmother and faithful friend. Judy was born May 27, 1940, in Hobart, Oklahoma, the only child of Cecil and Lorene Watson. She grew up in Hobart during the 40’s and 50’s, playing hide-n-seek, hopscotch, climbing trees and swinging out of trees on a rope, skiing at Lugert, dragging Main Street, hauling wheat, plowing wheat fields and pulling boles. Judy graduated from Hobart High School in 1958. She played basketball, softball and tennis, was an honor student, always on the Honor Roll, was salutatorian of her graduating class, and editor of her high school year book. She was a member of the high school band and played several instruments. She also was the piano accompanist for the high school choral group. Judy attended the University of Oklahoma where she was President of her freshman dormitory, Holman House. She also attended Hills Business College, Oklahoma City University and Rose State College where she received her paralegal certificate in 1979. She was a member of Geologists Wives Association for 16 years. After working for several law firms, Judy returned to the oil and gas business and worked for Ricks Exploration and Cardinal River Energy until retirement. She was a member of Mayfair Church of Christ. She will be remembered for her fun in making new friends, loving all the old ones, and her compassion and love for animals. Judy will be greatly missed and was loved by her family and friends. She is survived by the loves of her life, sons, Brandon of Grove, Oklahoma, and Johnny and wife, Dora, of Fairfax, VA, and Brandon’s four children, Megan, Ryan, Sydney and Evan and one great grandson, Jaxon Joly. Her sweet husband, the love of her life, Archie Johnson, and parents predeceased her. Visitation will be held at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper on Friday, February 2nd from 8a – 8p with family receiving guests from 5-7pm. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 3rd, in the chapel at Hahn Cook.
