Kenneth Wayne Garland, 65, of Moore, Oklahoma passed away on June 13th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Kenneth was born on August 22, 1959, as the youngest of four children born to Opal Brown and Truman Garland. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Clifford Garland. He is survived by wife, Barbara, sisters Patricia and Annette, daughters Stephanie and Kristy, as well as granddaughters Presley and Ava.
Kenneth always had a passion for airplanes and flight. In the summer of 1977, at age 17, he joined the Navy at the San Diego Naval Training Center, Company144. Through his consistent outstanding performance, he was promoted to Aviation Electrician's Mate Second Class while attached to Patrol Squadron NINE. While he got to see many places around the world, his favorites were Japan and Guam.
Kenneth continued his aircraft career as a civilian at Tinker Air Force Base as an electrician for several years. His favorite plane was the B1 bomber due to it being "complex and temperamental." It was at Tinker where he met his first wife, Tracy, mother to his children. Ken was a very kind and patient father to the two girls, always taking time to explain the why or to teach the bigger lesson.
While some may describe Ken as shy, he was more of a quiet rebel at heart and never had a problem working his charm to get the prettiest lady in the room. Kenneth and Barbara, "Ken and Barbie," met in 2004 and were married for life a year later. They had great adventures camping in the Pacific Northwest, sporting around in Corvettes, and living life to the fullest.
Ken was a loving husband, a caring father, a mentor and friend; he was an honest man with a good heart.
