

Kenneth E. Sleeper, age 71 of Edmond, OK, passed away into the arms of his Lord Jesus August 26, 2014 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born November 14, 1942 in Wilburton, OK to Alva Earl and Allie Leatha (Bates) Sleeper. He graduated from Star Spencer High School. Ken married Shelva Wade on August 30, 1984 and the two spent the next 30 years loving each other and raising their family. He was a member of the OKC Gun Club and Guthrie Country Club. Ken loved OSU and racing and spent many many years on dirt tracks pursuing his interest. His most precious pastime was spending time with his grandsons. He especially enjoyed watching them play sports. Ken was a member of Village Baptist Church. He accepted Christ into his heart at the age of 13 and there was surely rejoicing as he entered the gates of the Heavenly Kingdom. His parents, two brothers: Dewayne Sleeper and Larry Sleeper all preceded him in death. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Shelva; daughter, Tammy Lowe of Frisco, TX; Cindy Risley of Oklahoma City; grandsons: Chase and Chad Risely, Kaleb and Krue Lowe; special nephew, Jeff Sleeper, special friends: Dewey and Barbara Chambers; and many other relatives and friends. A Memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2014 at Village Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, OK 73120.
