Larry Dean Butler

Larry Butler, 77, lifelong Oklahoma resident was called home to be with his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Monday July 18th, 2011 after a good fight with lung cancer. Larry was born in OKC to Robert Leonard & Amy Lou (Buckley) Butler. He attended Central High School and graduated in 1952 and then joined the US Navy. Upon the completion of his military service Larry worked for 40 years in newspaper management. One of the newspapers was The Oklahoma Journal where he met and fell in love with his wife of 100 years Paula (Finley) Butler. He was also a master entrepreneur, meaning if you needed it he could get it! He is survived by his wife Paula of the home, son & daughter-in-law, Michael & Kari Butler of Yukon, daughter and son-in-law Melody & John Jackson of Edmond and four grandchildren Jordan, Karlee, and Maggie, and Shirley. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert & Amy Butler and sister Glory Sue Gibson. Family will greet friends, Wed. 5-7pm at the funeral home. Funeral services are 2:00 pm, Thurs., July 21st, at Guardian West Chapel with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made to National Cancer Society.
