

Born in Alice, Texas on April 9th, 1949, he was the son of Lionel Wendt and Virgina Sunderland.
He served his country in the US Navy from 1968-1971 as an aircraft mechanic while stationed in San Diego, California. After leaving the military he settled in Tulsa,Oklahoma, where he worked for Trees Inc. doing what he loved the most. Upon leaving there, he worked retail until his retirement. His hobbies included finishing, video games, watching/attending car shows, auto races, and trying out new restaurants and foods around the world with his family.
He is survived by his five siblings, son Dylan; grandchildren, Trevin and wife Jimena, Topanga, Liberty; and great-grandchildren Yona and Samuel.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia; stepfather, Karl Sunderland; father, Lionel; son, Kyle; grandparents, and various family members.
A celebration of life will be held on September 6, 2025, at the Crescent Community Center located at 525 E. Van Buren, Crescent, Oklahoma 73028, from 11- 2pm. Interment to follow at Crescent Cemetery, led by the Patriot Guard Riders of Oklahoma.
Ray wasn’t the fancy-dress type, so we are asking that you wear something tie-dyed, camouflage, Grateful Dead, or NASCAR related as those were his favorite things.
