Lewis Carl Ganter was born in Thousand Oaks, California on February 11, 1971 to Lewis and Sonia Ganter. Carl was a rock to his wife and sons. He was a beacon of light to his entire family and everyone he met. He was a gentle leader, fierce competitor, loyal friend, and serious businessman.
Carl grew up in Dallas and graduated from Lake Highlands High School where he made lifelong friends. He was a great athlete, playing several sports, his favorite being baseball. He attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated in 1994 with a business degree. During his time there, he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon where he met a lot of his best of friends and stayed active on the board.
While at OU, he met the love of his life and best friend, Julie Gage of Muskogee. After four years of dating they married in March 1995. They had three beautiful sons, Vance, Tyler and William. He was always encouraging them to do everything to the best of their ability, always wanting the very best for each of them.
Other than being with his family, one of his favorite things on this earth was coaching baseball. He was so passionate, loving and caring for the sport and he absolutely loved his players. He wanted to inspire, teach and help mold each player to love the sport and to be the best they could be on the field and in life. He loved his time as the assistance coach at Bishop McGuinness High School and coaching Sandlot plus numerous other teams.
He loved being at Lake Tenkiller, Red River, New Mexico and Destin, Florida. If OU football was on, he was either at the game, or cheerleading with friends supporting his team from afar.
Carl started in the health care business shortly after college. After years of learning the business, he started a successful consulting business, The Ganter Group. He then was co-owner at Alpha Home Health and Hospice where he was CEO. The company recently sold, and he was getting used to his new role.
No words can describe the love he had for his family. His wonderful, loving parents, Lew and Sonia Ganter, three beautiful sisters, Kristi and her husband Brett Gardner, Gretchen and her husband David Schell, and Mari Ganter (Thompson). His loving mother and father in law, Ed and Elaine Gage, sister-in-law Cindy Johnson, and His brother-in-law, John Gage and his wife Sarah. Many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. All who he
loved so very deeply.
A private family committal service was held at Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City.
