Lisa Joy Wagner

September 18, 1967–January 19, 2012

Lisa Joy Wagner passed away at the age of forty-four in Oklahoma City after a twenty month long battle with melanoma. She was the daughter of Bonnie and Sheldon Rochwerger (who passed away in 2010.) Lisa graduated from Nicolet High School in Glendale, Wisconsin in 1985 and matriculated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2002. She lived in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania prior to moving to Oklahoma with her family in 2005. Her most fulfilling occupation was being a loving stay-at-home mom who ensured the importance of education and family. She also worked as a health unit coordinator, an operating room nurse, and a preschool teacher. Lisa married the love of her life, her b’shert, Andrew Frederick Wagner, on July 28, 2002. Lisa is survived by her adoring son, Brandon Benjamin, age 8, and ever-loving husband, Andy. She also leaves behind her mother, Bonnie Rochwerger, brother, Richard Rochwerger, sister-in-law, Amanda, and nephew and niece, Ethan and Alissa. Additionally, she is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Cameron and Danielle Wagner, niece, Lola, and mother and father-in-law, Alan and Rosalyn Wagner. Also, there are countless other relatives and dear friends who will miss her deeply. A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at 2 pm at her place of rest, Emanuel Hebrew Cemetery: SW 106th St. and Western Avenue. Shiva minyans will be held at the home of the deceased. As stated, Lisa battled cancer for almost two years and was an inspirational and true fighter all the way to the end. In order for others stricken with cancer to receive the best care possible, in lieu of flowers, the family wishes that contributions be made in memory of Lisa Wagner to the Peggy and Charles Stephenson Cancer Center at the University of Oklahoma.
