

Lucile McKinney passed away on December 8, 2025 in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was born on May 20, 1934, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Leston Harold Tewalt and Marie A. Lester. Lucile grew up in Iowa and completed her education through the 12th grade.
On March 5, 1953, Lucille married the love of her life, Clifford McKinney. They shared 70 devoted years together until his passing on March 22, 2023.
Lucile was a woman of deep faith and was a long-time member of Britton Christian Church, where she found purpose, community, and joy. She cherished Christmas and gospel music, and she found simple pleasures in watching squirrels play in the backyard. Some of her happiest moments were spent at Paradise Cove at the Lake of the Ozarks.
She loved her family fiercely and unconditionally, and she adored the family pets who brought warmth and comfort to her life. Lucile taught those around her the importance of taking responsibility for one’s actions, and she hoped to be remembered as someone who loved God and loved her family with her whole heart.
She is procced in death by her husband Clifford McKinney, her parents Leston Harold Tewalt and Marie A. Lester, her daughter Janet Barham, her sibling Sandy Mckinney and her husband John, and her granddaughter Catlin McKinney.
Lucile is survived by her children Nancy Brenneis and her husband Charley of Cookson, OK, Patricia Chism and her husband Sam Harper of Edmond, OK, Steven McKinney and his wife Marian of Bethany, OK. As well as her five grandchildren and seven grandchildren.
