

Lycenia “Ruth” Taylor was born November 20, 1927 in Oklahoma City Oklahoma and passed away at the age of 89 on February 20, 2017. Ruth spent her life working as an LPN for Baylor Hospital in Dallas, and the VA in OKC. She retired from her career around 1995. In her free time, Ruth loved gardening, doing needlework, collecting carousel horses, singing, and having a good time. She was also a member of the American Legion Aux Post 35. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Maude Hornbeck ; Son, William Mitchell Taylor; brothers Warner Hornbeck, Karl Hornbeck, Lester ‘L.D.’ Hornbeck and sister, Flossie Redonda Hornbeck. Surviving relatives are her daughter, Redonda Blackburn and husband Nolen of OKC; daughter-in-law, Ysleta Taylor; 7grandchildren, Sonya Blackburn, David and Laura Blackburn, Duane and Shanelle Blackburn, Michelle and Lee Wooden, Nicholas Taylor and Julie Clasper, Clinton Taylor and Ethan Taylor and his fiancé Kaitlyn Palmquist, 7 great grandchildren, Thomas, Ashley, Avian, Jayna, Parker, Ty, and Finley and 1 great-great grandson, Nicholas. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 9am-8pm with the family available to greet friends from 6 to 8. Funeral services are under the direction of Guardian West Funeral Home and will be Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10am at Guardian West with internment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
