Madeline Monet Lamirand, 94 years of age, peacefully went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2010. Madeline was born June 10, 1916, in Dibble, Oklahoma. Out of the eleven children, she was born the fifth child of Lannie and Alpha (Parker) Hale. She attended grade school at East Valley View and graduated from Dibble High School with honors. While in training to become a nurse, she met the love of her life, Walter Hershel Lamirand, Jr. They were married June 29, 1937. An exact year from that day, their precious daughter, Marilyn June was born. Four years later they were blessed with their son, Walter Hershel Lamirand III. Madeline and Hershel moved to Oklahoma City, which then became their home. Their doors were always open to family as well as the many wonderful friends and neighbors they met. Madeline enjoyed music, singing, dancing, and visiting friends, but what brought her the greatest joy was the love she shared with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Madeline's strong faith in God began at a very young age and remained with her. She kept her Bible close and read it religiously. Her love and passion for family was second only to her devotion to God. She knew her journey in this world would lead her to a place of peace and life everlasting. Madeline is survived by her daughter, Marilyn J. Bevan of Rockwall, Texas, her son, Hershel Lamirand, of Oklahoma City, grandchildren Kenyon, Angie, Jack, Stacey, Christy, Becki, Christopher, great grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Jade, Chloe, Ryan, Hannah, Audrey, Reagan, Will, Jack, and Sam, and many dear nieces and nephews. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 30, from 7-9 pm. Services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 1, at the Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel, 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City. Memorials may be made to the Heart Rhythm Institute, University of OK Health Sciences, OKC or St. Ann Retirement Center, OKC.
