

Margaret Ella Koelsch, 94, went to be with her Lord, on July 20, 2010. She was born May 26, 1916 in Oklahoma City, OK to John and Mary (Ruzicka) Swanda. She grew up in OKC on Kelham Street and at the age of 12 began working for George Herwig Advertising, with her sister Tillie. In 1942, she along with her husband, Ted, started a dairy in Shawnee. In 1947, Ted and Margaret established Ted Koelsch and Son’s Hardware. Margaret was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was also a member of the Altar Society at St. Robert’s Catholic Church in Jones. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and playing the piano and organ. Margaret was an excellent cook and seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ted Koelsch; granddaughter-in-law, Tammy Koelsch; siblings, Tillie, George, Tophel, and baby Swanda; granddaughter, Jessica Koelsch. Survivors include her children, David Koelsch, Sr (Nancy), Jim Koelsch (Judy), Eileen Koelsch; siblings, Irene, Adolph and Helyn Swanda; grandchildren, Cathy Evans (Craig), David Koelsch, Jr. (Paula), Michael Koelsch (Craig Diehl), Tina Page (Steven), Jimmy Koelsch, John Koelsch (Nancy), Rebecca Knappmann (John), Rachel Koelsch and Jonathan Koelsch; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, Steffon.
A wake will be held at the Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 22, 2010. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 23, 2010 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
