

On October 17, 2023, Margaret Regina (Boyd) Phillips spent her final moments of this life with her loving family by her side. Margaret entered her life on October 2, 1936 in Nashville, Tennessee to parents, Charles Brown Boyd and Bertha Irene (Griffin) Boyd.
Margaret would relocate to Washington State where she would spend a big part of her life before moving to Oklahoma. While in Washington, she would marry her husband and life partner, Carey Roland Phillips on December 7, 1961.
Margaret enjoyed many things such as gospel music, going to the casino, shopping at Stein Mart, spending time and laughing with her family, working in the yard, and caring for her dogs. Some things Margaret would pass down to the people close to her is that even with having little education, you can still gain intelligence, independence, and the power to achieve your goals no matter who you are.
Margaret will be remembered as a mother, friend, and grandparent. Her caring and loving nature was shared with her husband, children and grandchildren, and her dogs. This would also assist her in her venture in opening up a daycare, which would be successful for over 40 years. She also dedicated her life to God and through that; she became an active member of Putnam City Baptist Church and Evangelism Explosion.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents Charles Brown Boyd and Bertha Irene (Griffin) Boyd, husband Carey Roland Phillips, her daughter Beverly Phillips Vaiz, and grandchild Sam Robinson.
Her legacy will continue on through her children Suzanne Phillips Andersen and Gary of Placerville, California, Carolyn Phillips Ramsey and Bret of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and Richard Carey Phillips of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, sister Edith Montera McClellan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, son-in-law Ben Viaz of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her eight grandchildren Emily Phillips, Laura Robinson, Abbey Phillips, Lisa Robinson, Rachael Andersen, Paris Andersen, Matthew Vaiz, Jazmine Vaiz and her fur babies Oreo, Annie, and Princess.
A graveside service for Margaret will be held Friday, October 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73162.
