Born in Ada, Oklahoma, Mariah grew up in Pauls Valley. She attended Whitebead, Pauls Valley High School and graduated with honors in 2002 from East Central University with a Fashion Merchandising degree. She resided in Oklahoma City and worked in management for a number of leading retailers.
Mariah was preceded in death by her mother, Sheila (Goggans) Murray and her grandparents: J.C. “Choc” and Anna Belle (Hall) Murray and William Darwin and Muriel Gerew “Chig” (Wickware) Goggans, all of Pauls Valley. She is survived by her father, Joe Murray, of Pauls Valley and her sister, Hillary Farrell, husband Peter and daughter Rowan Sheila Farrell of Oklahoma City. Aunts, uncles and cousins will miss Mariah, as well as her best friend Yozzy García and husband, Enrique, of Santa Teresa, NM.
Mariah loved animals, especially the dogs she owned and pampered throughout her life. She enjoyed music. She had an infectious laugh and a wry personality. Never desiring children of her own, some of her happiest moments were spent being “Auntie” to Rowan.
No service will be held due to the ongoing pandemic and the family requests privacy at this sad time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Mariah’s name to United Way of Central Oklahoma at www.unitedwayokc.org.
