1935-2014
There is great sadness here on earth as Mom has gone on to greater things. In heaven, there is joy and celebration as she has entered the kingdom of our Lord. Our memories of her will be carried with us through our lives. We are better people because of her. Many lessons and examples were set for us and it will be a tall order to fill. Mom grew up with her two sisters, Mary and Barbara, and her mom, Judy in a small room over the store where her mom worked. She married at 17, and by age 24 she had four children. She was an example of hard work and persistence. Mom was an excellent book keeper and became a successful business owner, but she was most proud of being a mother and wife. Her grandchildren brought her great joy and her love for all was unmeasurable. All of her children and grandchildren knew they were loved by her. Her example of showing this love through her kindness and nurturing will always be a part of each and every one of us. Giving endlessly to her four children, 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, you can say there was abundant spoiling! Thank you mom, for giving us your love and affection, life lessons, security and comfort. You will always be with each and every single one of us. Mom was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Ford, her mother, Judith Judkins, her father, Thurman Overbey, sister, Mary Manspeaker and her nephew Tony Boyd; She is survived by her sister, Barbara Hallinan and brother in-law Ed Hallinan; children, Tawny Hagan and son in-law Tim Hagan; Son, Jim Ford and daughter in-law, Gina Ford; Son, Rush Ford; Daughter Wendi Jackson and son in law Danny Jackson. Her grandchildren, Tyler and Jamie Hagan, Travis and Saysha Hagan, Trey and Ashley Hagan, James and Miranda Ford, Courtney and Bill Wylie, Taylor Ford, Dylan Jackson, Kacie and Hagen Jackson, Brian Jackson. Great grandchildren, Tyson Hagan, Landen Rhodes, Traeh Hagan, Talan Hagan, Skyla Hagan, and soon to be here baby Hagan, Jaxon Ford, Jace Ford, Kate Wylie, and Dallas Jackson. Niece, Terri Pyle and her husband Larry Pyle, nephews Donny Boyd and Robby Boyd, great niece Kylie Pyle and great nephews Ryan and Brantley Pyle, and Christopher Boyd. Even though estranged, her heart was with her nieces and nephews out of state, sadly not part of her daily life but always in her thoughts. Mom was a member of Piedmont United Methodist Church, where here Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 2:00 p.m
