Patricia Hanges Rigler, born February 26, 1937, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away surrounded by love and family. Patricia was a passionate, independent woman who lived a life rooted in purpose, conviction, and compassion. She was deeply loved and respected by all who knew her.
The daughter of James and Athena Hanges, Patricia graduated from Old Classen High School in 1955. She went on to attend the University of Oklahoma, proudly earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Oklahoma City University in 2004. She also completed a Paralegal Degree from OU Law School.
Patricia's professional journey was as diverse as it was impactful. She worked for Anta Corporation as an Administrative Assistant and later served as a Senior Assistant and Paralegal at American Fidelity. A true entrepreneur, she owned and operated The Brass Pantry, a small business she nurtured with care. She later served as CFO of Austpec Environmental LLC, demonstrating both leadership and vision.
Patricia’s passion for politics, education, and advocacy shaped much of her life. She was a proud member of the League of Women Voters, the Democratic Women’s Caucus, and served on the OU Civil Rights Committee. She was also a board member of the Parents Assistance Center and St. George Greek Orthodox Church’s Building Development Committee, where she remained a faithful and active member throughout her life.
Deeply proud of her Greek heritage, Patricia carried the legacy of her family with dignity. She was an avid reader, a lifelong student, and a fierce advocate for those less fortunate—always fighting for the "little guy."
Her greatest joys in life were her son and grandson, who brought her boundless pride and happiness. She also adored her "puppy dogs," who were never far from her side.
Patricia is survived by her beloved son, Bradley Rigler, and his wife Connie of Greenville, Texas; her cherished grandson, Christopher Rigler of McKinney, Texas; and her nephews Jimmy Hanges and family of Fairfield, Ohio, and Jim Hanges and his wife of Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Athena Hanges, and her siblings Tom Hanges, George Hanges, and Gus Hanges, as well as Sherry McDowell.
