Paula Jean Lucas

Paula Jean Lucas, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away on June 17, 2024. She was born May 21, 1949 in Midwest City to Paul and Helen Brawdy. Paula grew up in Midwest City and graduated from Carl Albert High School in 1967. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 55 years, Donald Ray Lucas (Donnie), whom she met when they were just children. With Donnie’s military service, they moved to California but eventually returned home to Midwest City, Oklahoma where they raised their son, Donald Ray Lucas, Jr. (Ray) and daughter Julie Elizabeth Lucas (Wilson).

Paula is preceded in death by her parents, her son Ray Lucas, her sister Donna Owens, and her lifelong best friend Carolyn Allen. She is survived by her husband Donnie Lucas, daughter Julie Wilson, three granddaughters, Erin Wilson, Dawn Wilson, and Scarlet Wilson, brother Fred Brawdy and his wife Sandy, and several nieces and nephews.

Paula was a tireless worker and helped take care of her family’s rental business her whole life as well as working in Mid Del Food Services for 30 years. She selflessly cared for her mother every day when her health declined, cooking, cleaning, shopping and just being there so she didn’t feel lonely. She was an extremely empathetic and compassionate soul. She helped raise many children throughout her lifetime and was a safe harbor for anyone that needed it. Paula had a great sense of humor and liked to laugh. She was kind, loving and always quick to give a compliment. Her granddaughters were her pride and joy and she loved spending time with them. She will be deeply missed by so many but will be remembered for all the good times she shared with those she loved and those who loved her.

A visitation for Paula will be held Friday, June 21, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral service will occur Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A burial will occur Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73141.
