Raymond “Leslie” Summers, Jr., 56, passed away July 13, 2011. He was born February 19, 1955 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Raymond Sr., and Mary Ellen Summers. He was a member of the First Baptist Church as well as a member of the 1972 Purcell State Championship Dragons football team. He enjoyed spending time with his children, coaching sports, raising pigs, hunting and going to the lake. Leslie was an active member of Narcotics Anonymous for many years and was known as “Papa Smurf” in the Sober Psychos, a motorcycle club he belonged to. Leslie was preceded in death by his parents and a brother John. Surviving Leslie are his children; Nicole and husband Joshua Thomas, Kyle Summers, Suni Summers and fiancé David Auld, and Pepper Summers. Also surviving Leslie are his grandchildren; Shawn, Noah, Jayden, Amelia and Gavin and two sisters, Susan McDonald and Vickie Smith. Later in his life he looked forward to the bike trips he took with his brothers in sobriety, spreading the message. A memorial service for Leslie was held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
