Regalado “Rick” Rosario, 80 of Choctaw Okla, passed peacefully from this life Nov 17, 2020. Services have been entrusted to the care of Advantage Funeral and Cremation Service. A celebration of Rick’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 24th at 11am at the funeral home chapel located at 7720 S. Penn in OKC. Following the service, Rick will be interred beside his lovely wife Gloria at Dale Cemetery near Shawnee, OK. Public visitation will be held on Monday from 2pm to 7pm. Rick’s celebration of life will be livestreamed on facebook live on Tuesday at 11am at the link below. Regalado Rosario was born on December 17, 1939 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico to Regalado Rosario Sr and Anastasia Marie (Baez) Rosario. He came to the U.S. at age four and lived in a Lutheran orphanage in New York, NY. In the late 1950’s, Rick came to OK to attend his brother Louie’s wedding. While here, he met the love of his life Gloria Mae Brewington and the two were married September 23, 1961.
Rick spent the majority of his life as a member of the Roofer’s Union. During his 45 year career he owned Oklahoma Roofing, Allstar Roofing, Atlas Roofing, and his most recent venture Enterprise Roofing, which he co-owned with his children. He had quite a hand in shaping the OKC metro skyline while roofing Crossroads Mall, Mathis Bro’s Furniture, the Veterans Administration, as well as numerous Walmart’s, Autozone’s Walgreens, and other businesses before his retirement in 2007.
Retirement allowed Rick free time to pursue what he loved: riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his soulmate Gloria before her passing in 2017. Rick was a man of strong faith and conviction. He was a longtime member of Family Worship Center where he served as a deacon and assisted with their bus ministry. Giving back to his community was also a big part of Rick’s life. He was a member of the Mark Twain Lion’s Club, but much of his time was spent investing in the kids and young people in his neighborhood. Rick did this by coaching baseball, basketball, football, he bestowed the importance of hard work and education . Rick targeted the young people who were headed down the wrong path he seen a bit of himself in each one of them and showed them a better way through his acceptance and unconditional love.
Rick was never happier than when he was surrounded by his family and he cherished their many hunting and fishing trips. Rick was a loving husband, protective father, dedicated follower of Christ, a proud poppie, and a trusted friend. He will be missed by all those whose life he touched.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of over 56 years Gloria Rosario; an infant son; and his sister’s Rose Ramirez, Gerry Raiche, Julia Maqnone, Nieves Redfern, Hipolita Rosario, Carmen Rosario, brother's Ernie Rosario, Demencio Aldo, Ralph Baez, and Hermino Baez,. He is survived by his children: Babi Locke and husband John, Regalado Rosario Jr. and wife Shelli, and Anthony Mize; two brother’s: Louis Baez and Julio Rosario; 8 grandchildren: Brent Locke and wife Christina, Bryan Locke and wife Belen, Rae Dawn Davis and husband Cory, Babi Hembrough and husband Josiah, Regalado Rosario IV, NikiDawn Rubio and husband Justin, Shana Reber and husband Taylor, and Amber Mize; 14 great grandchildren: Kaden, Natalie, Charlotte, Mason, Maylon, Ian, Hayden, Ryland, Rae, Rue, Taelyn, Hadley, Eli, and Livi.
He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other beloved family members and friends including his companion Teresa Long, her children; Timothy, Stacia, and Junior.
