Ruby worked for Mid-Continent Life Insurance Company for 12 years, retiring in 1994.
Her proudest moments came when she was able to give. It brought her so much joy. She crocheted from a very young age and loved to make gifts and give to others. She served the Lord at Cherokee Hills Baptist Church for many years. She started a prayer shawl ministry there, recruiting and teaching others how to crochet shawls to bless those in need or pain. She also dearly loved visiting shut-ins and making bookmarks with scripture to hand out to everyone she came in contact with (even at Wal-Mart), demonstrating the love of God. Ruby was a modest lady of modest means with a heart of gold.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Cherokee Hills Baptist Church Prayer Shawl Ministry or to Russell Murray Hospice.
