

On April 5, 2024, Samuel Jack Redus of Yukon, Oklahoma departed this life. Jack entered this world on March 10, 1946 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was born to parents Samuel Ezra and Margaret Hannah (Goforth) Redus.
In Jack’s early life, he grew up in Stillwater, Oklahoma and attended Stillwater Public Schools. Jack enlisted in the U.S. Army at the young age of 17. He grew in ranks becoming a Staff Sergeant, serving overseas in Germany, and serving two tours in Vietnam. On August 27, 1968, Jack married the love of his life, Carmene. After serving in the Army, he moved to Piedmont, Oklahoma before settling in Yukon, Oklahoma, where he enjoyed the last thirty-three years of his life.
Jack was a family man who was loyal and committed to the people he loved. Jack was the successful business owner of Dream Acres Boarding Stables and enjoyed being at his ranch on his tractor and Gator, taking care of his horses, and listening to country music, especially Willie Nelson. Jack was also a successful horse trainer and foreman of multiple ranches including, Haymaker Farms, which was owned by Dale Robertson at the time.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Ezra and Margaret Hannah (Goforth) Redus, his son, Doug Redus, brothers, Leamon Redus and sister-in-law Elvira, Toby Redus, George Redus and sister-in-law Alene, Eddie Redus, and Don Redus, sisters, Floriene Monroe and brother-in-law LaVerne, and Loretta Hannegan.
Jack is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Carmene, daughter, Florine and her husband Tony Smarra Jr, grandchildren, Gavin Smarra and Carly Smarra whom he loved dearly and was so very proud of, sister-in-laws, Barbara, Mae, and Pauline, and numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held on Tuesday April 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
