

Sharon Kay Blakely, age 77, of Canyon Lake, Texas, peacefully passed away on July 26, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She went to be with the Lord at her home, surrounded by loved ones. Sharon’s journey began in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where she was born on December 20, 1947, to Kenneth and Mildred (Stanley) Brandon.
A proud graduate of Putnam City High School, Sharon built a life grounded in love, faith, and dedication. She married her soulmate, William “Bill” Shelton Blakely, on February 16, 1968. They shared more than 37 years of marriage until Bill’s passing in June 2005. The Blakely family called Oklahoma home for many years before relocating to San Antonio, Texas, in 2001.
Throughout her career in the medical and insurance industries, Sharon was known for her integrity, compassion, and professionalism. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, and especially looked forward to watching Live PD on Friday and Saturday nights—simple joys that became cherished parts of her routine.
Sharon is survived by her children: Richard “Ricky” Blakely and wife Liz Blakely of Oklahoma City, OK; Dena and husband Adam Rodriguez of Canyon Lake, TX; and Leah Whaley and husband Steve Whaley of Shawnee, OK. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Trace and his wife Jennifer Harrison, with children Raelynn and T.J.; Terrin Coker, Darrian Coker, and Dainan Coker; Lauren and her husband John Phillips; Samantha and her husband Tristan Burnett, with children Atticus and Abel; Sydney and her husband Cale Ashcraft; Anthony Whaley; Cara and her husband David How, with children Lana, Luca, and Leia; and Xavier and his wife Sabrina Rodriguez, with son Aaron.
She is also survived by her siblings: David Brandon, Donald Brandon, Charles Brandon, Carol Romberg, and Barbara Iott, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Blakely; her parents; and her brother, Kenneth Brandon.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Lux Funeral Home Chapel in New Braunfels, TX. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, located at 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK. Sharon’s gentle spirit and loving heart will be dearly missed. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A funeral service for Sharon will be held Friday, August 8, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. Following the funeral service will be a burial from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73141.
