Sheryl Jean (Buchanan) Delce

Sheryl “Sherry” Jean Delce passed away peacefully in Oklahoma City after an extended illness at the age of 63.

Sheryl was born in Oklahoma City where she resided during her entire life. She attended Prairie Queen Elementary School, Jefferson Junior High School and US Grant High School. She received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Central State College in Edmond. After graduation, she taught elementary school for a short while prior to embarking on a career with the US Postal Service where she eventually retired. All who knew Sherry admired her compassion and love of animals, her love of living and life, and her special fondness of Lake Texoma.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ernestine Buchanan, and her father, Alvin “Bud” Buchanan.

She is survived by her beloved husband Don Delce and her cat Sophie of their home in Oklahoma City; her sister Susan Shelby Poe (Don) of Charlotte, North Carolina; her brother Steve Buchanan (RuthAnn) of Oklahoma City; two nieces Lisa Shelby of New York City and Ashley Buchanan of Oklahoma City; and grandniece Mackenzie Giorgio of Oklahoma City. Stepchildren Dale Delce and ShaRonda Delce. Six Step grandchildren Chenise, Donale, Danielle, CC, Kelley and Airial.
