

Shirley Jean Johnson, 72 year-old resident of Choctaw, OK, passed away February 8, 2014 at her home. Born Sept. 14, 1941 in Red Oak, OK, she was the daughter of Edna & Winfield Willcox. She was a graduate of Choctaw High School and married Granville Dee Johnson on Sept. 4, 1959 in McLoud, OK. Shirley was co-owner of Dee Johnson Pools, Inc. from 1978 to the present. Shirley was an avid OU Sooner fan and was a co-owner of season tickets for over 35 years. She loved following Sooner Athletics while proudly wearing crimson and cream. She loved International travel with Dee and never left her golf clubs behind. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed long daily walks; golfing; bird watching; and tending to her flowers. Shirley belonged to the Shawnee Country Club; Choctaw Golf Assoc.; and was a founding member of the Choctaw Women’s Golf Club. Survivors include her husband Dee Johnson of the home; 2 children, Todd and wife Teena Johnson; and Shelly and husband Robert Rudin; 3 grandchildren, Amanda Qualls and her fiancé Lewis Lindenberg; Austin Qualls; and Macy Qualls; 1 step-grandson, Ryan Rudin; and her pet Maltipoo, “Noodles” who was her constant companion and best friend. A visitation will be held at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 from 4 – 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014 at Arlington Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with burial following in Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK.
