Stuart Taylor Viele passed away on September 23, 2016 in Denver, Colorado. Stuart was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and attended Casady School, where he excelled on the football and soccer field before graduating in 2004. He then attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas where he went on to earn his Bachelor’s of Science in Economics with Financial Applications degree in 2007 and Master’s of Art’s in Economics in December 2010. Stuart later worked in the Land Department at Chesapeake Energy, following in his father’s footsteps in the oil and gas industry.
Stuart had an infectious laugh, a mischievous grin, and cared deeply about those around him who enjoyed life as much as he did. He loved his friends and his dog, Fiesta, and enjoyed spending free time traveling. He was happiest fly-fishing, whether with his brother, Miles, in whitewater rivers in Argentina, with friends in Montana, or simply by himself on a lake in Oklahoma. He recently became an uncle and relished his new role as Uncle Stuart or “Tio.” He will be missed by all of those who knew and loved him.
Stuart is preceded in death by his father, Tony, who he deeply loved and respected. He is survived by his mother Susie, his brother, Miles, his sister, Cadee, her husband, Ryan York, and his nephew, Hunter. Services for Stuart will be held as St. Luke’s United Methodist Church at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 3, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Stuart’s name to the Montana Trout Unlimited, a non-profit that aims to protect Montana’s wild trout fisheries. https://simplecheckout.authorize.net/payment/CatalogPayment.aspx.
