

Dr. Troy Corder, age 91, of Midwest City, Oklahoma went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was born January 15, 1934 in Amarillo, Texas to Charles and Sarah Corder.
Troy began his career on 27 December 1955 when he joined the United State Army as an enlisted Fire Direction Control Technician. During his three years in the Army, he was assigned to three bases including one in Germany. At the end of his three-year enlistment, 8 December 1958, he separated from the Army and reentered civilian life. He began working at Tinker Air Force Base September 1966 and Retired January 3rd 2020. Troy earned his Doctoral Degree in Education from Oklahoma State University in 1983. He worked many years as an Educational Services Specialist.
Troy was preceded in death by his wife, Connie. He and Connie were married on July 28, 1961. They were married for 37 years until her death July 19, 1999.
Troy was a charter and faithful member of Henny Road Missionary Baptist Church, now know as Abounding Grace Missionary Baptist Church. He loved worshiping, serving and supporting his church family. His faith in Christ was strong and constant, guiding him through every season of life. He was known for his gentle spirit and generous heart.
Troy is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Hume and her husband Delmar of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; granddaughter Taylor Bumgarner and her husband Jordan; and great grandson Eliot Bumgarner of Wewoka, Oklahoma. His sister, Ruth Price of Garland, Texas and brother David Corder of Midwest City, Oklahoma, along with many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
