Vearl attended Chickasha High School before enlisting in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany for three years.
He married Carolyn J Lancaster on December 2, 1966, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They had two children, Kristi and Teresa. Together they built a home and raised their girls in Choctaw, Oklahoma, where they resided for thirty years.
After twenty years of service, Vearl retired from the Midwest City Police Department, and soon after, gained employment at the United States Federal Courthouse in downtown Oklahoma City with the United States Marshall’s office.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his daughters, Kristi Wren (Rick) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Teresa Hughes of Newalla, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Kasey Hunt (Ian), Tyler Hughes, and Kaitlyn Whitmore (Chester); and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Viva O’Grady and Vera Savage, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Velma; a sister, Virgie Beck; and a brother, Venard “Butch” Hughes.
A visitation for Vearl will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral service will occur Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a committal to follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, NE 10th St, Harrah, OK 73045.
