

William Charles Lynn, age 87, of Midwest City, OK passed away on November 6, 2025. William was preceded in death by his parents, his two sisters, one child, David E. Lynn, and one grandchild, Jamie M. Lynn and his wife of 65 years, Nina P. Lynn. William is survived by his children, William K. Lynn, Diana P. Crismon, Roberta K. Lynn, and Michelle E. Edwards along with 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and one great grandchild on the way. Bill, as he was known to most people, was born in Bryn Mawr, PA and graduated from Bryn Mawr High School. After High School he joined the US Air Force and served his country for 7 ½ years as a Jet Engine Mechanic. During his enlistment he earned the Air Force Good Conduct Medal and Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and the Rank of Airman First Class (E-4). He was stationed in various locations within the country and around the world, including Cannon AFB, Wright Patterson AFB, Kirkland AFB, Turkey, and the Netherlands. While stationed at Cannon AFB, NM he met his future wife of 65 years, Nina Butler. Together they traveled the country and world, eventually leaving the Air Force at Kirkland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. Bill continued his Jet Engine Mechanic skills after the Air Force and eventually landed at Tinker AFB in Midwest City, OK. He remained in Oklahoma until retiring from Tinker, AFB. At that time he built his retirement home and moved to Logan, NM. Logan was his home until 2021 when Covid related issues necessitated him moving back to Oklahoma to be closer to family for support. Bill was an avid outdoorsman and deeply involved in his community. He served as a Scout Master for a local Boy Scout Troop. As a Scouter, he was a Wood Badge Graduate (Bear) and Vigil Honors holder in the Order of the Arrow.
His Troop produced multiple Eagle Scouts. Bill was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks in both Oklahoma and New Mexico where he served as the Exalted Ruler for one term. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and was a Freemason with the Masonic Lodge. While living in New Mexico, he could often be found working the chains at the Logan High School football games, supporting local artisans and Bluegrass musicians. In his own special way, he left this earth when “It’s time for me to go” and will be missed by all that knew him.
A visitation will be held at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, located at 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141, on November 20, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at the same venue on November 21, 2025, starting at 2:00 pm.
Burial will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, situated at 3400 N Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73141, on November 21, 2025.
