Bonnie Linnet Smith, 90, of Gardner, Kansas passed away at the Olathe Hospice House surrounded by her loving family of Thursday, January 30, 2019. She will forever be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to everyone she met.
Bonnie was born on May 31, 1928 in Choctaw, Oklahoma to Walter Lynn and Mary B. (Martin) Henson. She was a dedicated diehard worker at the Olathe Medical Center for eighteen years and was an outgoing person who was loved by all. Bonnie enjoyed spending time with her family. Nothing gave her more pleasure in life than the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will also be remembered as an avid “Corn Husker” fan. She will be sadly missed.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary Henson, and her loving husband Harry Dean Smith who died in January of 1996. She is survived by her three loving sons, Randy Smith and his wife Sandy of Mesquite, Texas, Les Fitzgerald and his wife Vera of Kearney, Missouri and Robert Smith of Gardner, Kansas. Left behind to cherish her memory are her five grandchildren; Coleman Smith, Candice Schuler and her husband Brett, Emily Smith, Kelsey Fink and her husband Conner and Cheyenne Fitzgerald. Bonnie also leaves behind her six great grandchildren; Makensie Schuler, Hudson Schuler, Dylan Smith, Dalton Smith, Harley Fitzgerald and Blaze Fitzgerald.
Bonnie will be cremated according to her wishes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the name of “Bonnie Linnet Smith” to: Olathe Hospice House 15310 South Marion Street Olathe, Kansas 66061.
